Episode 001 is a simple, healthy recipe for one of the most popular Hawaiian favorites, Poke. Poke is a kind of seafood salad most commonly made with tuna, but also octopus, crab, and other types of fish. There are countless variations of poke. This recipe is the one I make at home in NYC.

Tataki Style Ahi Poke
Ingredients:
8 Oz. Sashimi Grade Tuna
2-4 Oz. Dried Seaweed
1/4 Cup Green Onion
1/4 Cup Sweet Onion
1 Tbps. Sesame Oil
1 tsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tsp. Soy Sauce
1/2 tsp. Red Pepper Flakes (if desired)
Sea Salt & Fresh Cracked Pepper (to taste)
Cooking Instructions:
Generously season Tuna. Pour 1 tsp. of
Sesame Oil into a hot pan,
and sear on both sides for 10 seconds.
Let Tuna rest for a few minutes.
Chop Vegetables and Seaweed. Dice Tuna.
Mix in Bowl with other ingredients.
Add Salt & Pepper to taste if necessary.
If you like this recipe, try it with cooked octopus instead of tuna, it’s fantastic.
