Fast Foods: They Can be Healthy Too!
Generally, the tendency of the human being is to choose the easier option and fast food restaurants cash in on this lethargy of people. It is quite true that we live in a fast paced world and do not have time to leisurely choose a well planned diet. But, when we look at the harmful effects of fast foods, it becomes highly necessary to plan and cook a healthy food at home.
Invariably, almost all the fast food items are rich in fat, high in calorie, over processed killing the essential nutrients, and served with a lot of artificial flavoring, coloring and preservatives. The consequences of such things are obesity, depletion of resistance to insulin, heart disease, accelerated aging, and many more health related problems. The bad effect of fast foods is more on growing children than in adults since their bodies and brain do not easily adapt to the elimination and processing of harmful chemicals that are present in the fast foods.
Significantly, fast foods have low fiber content which is essential in our daily food for the elimination of toxins and safeguard against the onset of diseases. The unhygienic conditions under which the fast foods are prepared also contribute to the harmful effects.
Fast foods are preferred by people due to obvious reasons like they can be eaten fast, they are cheaper and people find it tasty and filling. Even those who sincerely want to reduce their waist line find it tempting to grab a fast food once or twice a week but, all the same, it is not good for health.
Normally, fast foods are prepared with hydrogenated oil which is artificially made to increase its shelf life and effectively produces high levels of Trans fats which is dangerous for the human life and contributes to blood clogging in the artery. Another social aspect is employing underage workers for the fast food restaurants.
If fast food can be avoided in its entirety, it is a good option to take foods that do not contain fat like onions, lettuce, tomato and mustard and low fat yogurt and at least balance the food. The urge to eat fast food can be dampened if some tips are followed.
Eating a little before going out will tend to resist taking fast food because a fully empty stomach tempts fast food. Alternatively, a small and healthy snack can be carried around while going out. Instead of taking a fast food that makes the stomach quite heavy, it is better to take five to six small meals every day.
Looking at all the aspects, it finally boils down to the fact that fast food is undoubtedly harmful to the body. So, if health is important, it is sane to avoid fast food.

Why don't they have healthy fast food places?
Like McDonald’s, Burger King, and all those are bad for you. Subway is probably best out of all those, but still not all that great once you add all the toppings and dressings. Or they have healthy foods like salads and yogurts but put so much sugar that they kill the purpose of a healthy meal. So why don’t they just make a healthy fast food chain?
I would give people food that wouldn’t ruin their health. Like that guy on Super Size Me, his health was ruined for eating there for at McDonald’s month.
No one would want to eat there. Who wants healthy fast food. If we wanted that there would be one already. If you want healthy food, go to whole foods, not fast food.

Healthy foods are generally more expensive than the mass-produced food products because mass-produced foods are full of preservatives that allow fastfood joints to keep the food in storage for a longer period. Healthy food has no preservatives and need to be prepared and sold quickly before it rots since there are only about 2 rushes a day in fast food restaurants (lunch and dinner) they need the preservatives to keep the food fresh throughout the day when business is slow.

The biggest reason is that a healthy fast food chain wouldn’t have enough business to stay open.
If you were to design the restaurant, what foods would you have?

FAST food has to be FAST, which means processesed, healthy food is not processed.

No one would eat there. It is more expensive to buy the ingredients that go into healthy food. Processed food is cheap easy to cook and a profit maker. They only think in $ not health. It’s all about the profit. Check out McDonald’s stock it is going through the roof. It’s cheaper in this economy for families to eat at McDonald’s than a restaurant with healthy choices. Plus fast food is increasing health care workers pay checks.

There are options out there but not all of them have drive-throughs, this is one of the complication factors. I look for fast food that is healthy. I sometimes have to walk into places to find them. Subway as you said is generally not a drive through place. Some options out there are Flaming Broiler. This fast food joint has been mentiond in magazines. They grill all there food instead of fry and stick it on rice. The consumer then has the option to put magic sauce on it. Soy and some other flavors I can’t figure out. but and top it off with green onion (its an option). But I think the mainfactor is that most people are craving fast food joints because of the sugar added into everything along with other factors (commercials) and rampant availibility. Did you know the the buns even have sugar in them. don’t believe me go look at buns at your grocery store, the cheap buns all have high fructose corn syrup added to them.
One thing that unhealthy fast food joints do is allow for overindulgance to get the best bang for their buck. Super size me is a good reference to that notion and if you remember the guy craved the food.
Miss information is another reason why the Healthy fast food hasn’t picked up. The general concensus is that if its healthy it can’t taste as good. And with the giant fast food places present. Campains are set out very fast to block the interest of healty fast food. Or they add a couple option to their menu that are healthy to get people to come who probably go there to eat the healthy option but get a side of large fries

A fast food place that only offered healthy food could never stay in business. The big chains all have "healthy" options on their menu, and those healthy options are outsold by the burgers and fries by 15 or 20 to 1. People say they want healthier fast food, but when it’s offered to them they don’t buy it.

First of all, Super Size Me was a joke; it was a movie — not reality. It didn’t actually happen at all. Secondly, if we refuse to order the fattening items, they will get the hint that we want the healthier food. It will take time because they look at the bottom line.

Healthy food is not fast. You said ‘fast food’. No one would eat at a healthy food chain anyway because most(Not all) healthy food is nasty. When people are on the go, or in a rush they want a "quick, tasty" snack. Not a healthful mouth of yuck.
